2010 was Anthony's first year
riding an RS125 GP bike. Most of 2010 was spent doing trackdays, but
2011 will be the opposite.
We are planning to race the full
WERA West Calendar, 7 races, which will take place at:
Buttonwillow (1)
Las Vegas (3)
Fontana (2)
Salt Lake - Miller Motorsports (1)
Each race weekend costs about $1500 when you account for
Tires: 1 set per weekend @ $250.00 per set
Race Fuel: 10 gallons @ $10.00 per gallon
Engine wear and maintanace: New piston and ring, plus
crank wear @ $225.00 for piston. Plus crank and bearing wear. The
bottom-end neeeds to be rebuilt every 8 to 10 running-days @ $800.00
Travel expenses: Between 500 miles (Buttonwillow round trip) to 1500 miles (Miller round trip), between $150 to $350
Race fees: Between 2 to 3 races per weekend @ $80 to
$125 each
Pracetice fees: Friday or Saturday Practice (trackday) @ $180
*These costs do not take crash-damage or training, like trackdays, into
account.
How
can I help?
From what you can
tell, racing is very expensive. You don't race to make money, you race
because you are passionate about it, and Anthony is. Anthony absolutely
loves racing. But he also works hard at it. He will usually be the last
rider on the track, even in 110 degree weather. He trains regularly,
whether at a trackday like Thunderhill, or a mini-day in
Stockton.
